Okt.17, Kolumbien\/Salento, Tag 1232, 11.850 sm von HH<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Das sch\u00f6nste Tal bei Salento ist das &#8218;Valley del Cocora&#8216;.<br \/>\nIn zwanzig Minuten wird man von den alten Willyz und Jeeps dorthin geschaukelt. Ab und an bleibt eine der alten Kisten schon mal liegen. Telefonmasten mit Palmen-P\u00fcschel.<br \/>\nHeimisch in Kolumbien kommt die Quindio-Wachspalme in den Zentral-Anden in einer H\u00f6he zwischen 2000 und 3000 Meter vor. Mehrere Hundert Jahre kann die h\u00f6chste Palme der Welt werden.<\/p>\n<p>Typisch f\u00fcr ausgewachsene Palmen ist eine dicke Schicht Wachs am Stamm.<br \/>\nAus dem Wachs wurden Kerzen gemacht. Junge Wedel werden f\u00fcr Oster-Prozessionen verwendet.<br \/>\nDurch Vieh-Haltung ist der Bestand gef\u00e4hrdet, da die Tiere junge Pflanzen verbei\u00dfen.<br \/>\nAlt-Palmen werden trotz Abholz-Verbot auch heute noch gef\u00e4llt.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Wir m\u00fcssen uns den Anblick der Palmen schwer erarbeiten. F\u00fcnf, sechs Stunden sind veranschlagt.<br \/>\nQuer durch den Nebelwald rackern wir uns von 2300 Meter hoch auf 3000 Meter.<br \/>\nIm Grunde ein Abenteuerspielplatz: Wir kommen \u00fcber etliche H\u00e4ngebr\u00fccken, die schaukeln wie ein L\u00e4mmer-Schwanz. Die hohe Lage merke ich schon, mir bleibt die Luft weg.<br \/>\nAchim mal wieder nicht. Er marschiert munter vorweg. Es ist total doof, dass wir beim Wandern nicht zusammenpassen.<br \/>\nBin ich wirklich so unfit? Kann das sein? Nein, es muss ein anderer Grund her.<br \/>\nOkay, wenn Achim einen Schritt macht, muss ich zwei machen.<\/p>\n<p>Das reicht als Ausrede noch nicht.<br \/>\nIch keuche. Er nicht. Bis mir dann die Erleuchtung kommt, es liegt eindeutig am &#8218;Passiv-Rauchen&#8216;. Die Erkl\u00e4rung! Den Nebel k\u00f6nnen wir nun beim Blick ins Cocora Tal nicht gebrauchen.
