Es gibt wenig Informationen \u00fcber Zumbahua zu finden.<br \/>\nKlar ist, der 10.000-Einwohner-Ort liegt auf 3.600 Meter und die H\u00e4user haben alle keine Heizung. Unser Hostal (unser schlechtester Griff bisher-das Zimmer ist hellh\u00f6rig, winzig klein und die Wirtsleute sind unfreundlich) bewahrt seine G\u00e4ste vor dem Erfrieren durch drei Lagen Lama-Decken und einen elektrischen Radiator.<\/p>\n<p>Wir treten auf die Stra\u00dfe und unser Problem l\u00f6st sich s\u00fcdamerikanisch in Wohlgefallen auf. &#8222;Nach Quilotoa?&#8220;, fragt uns ein Pick-up-Fahrer. &#8222;Nein, dahin wollen wir Morgen. Wir suchen einen Wanderweg hier im Ort.&#8220; Der \u00e4ltere Typ zeigt mit dem Finger auf einen nahen Berg. &#8222;Da m\u00fcsst ihr hoch, auf den Hawapati, sch\u00f6ner Weg, sch\u00f6ne Aussicht. Er f\u00e4hrt uns bis zum Dorfrand und schmei\u00dft uns raus. Wir verstehen noch &#8218;Wasserhaus und blau&#8216;, dann ist er verschwunden. Wir stehen am Fu\u00df eines &#8218;kleinen H\u00fcgels&#8216;, vielleicht vierhundert Meter hoch. Und steil. Sehr steil. U bezwingbar steil. Wir stiefeln erst mal los. Das blaue Wasserwerk finden wir noch, aber keinen Weg. Da blinzelt uns ein Guanako mit seinen langen Wimpern oberhalb des Weges an. Wir pumpen wie die Maik\u00e4fer, eine Unterhaltung ist unm\u00f6glich. Zeitweise brauchen wir die H\u00e4nde, um uns am Gras hochzuziehen. So richtig ins Schwitzen kommen wir nicht. Der Wind ist ziemlich eisig und wenn die Sonne hinter Wolken verschwindet, brauchen wir die M\u00fctzen.<br \/>\nAber irgendwann sind wir dann oben. Alle B\u00e4ume abgehackt. Verbaut und vor allem verheizt.<br \/>\n\u00d6rtlich wird Wiederaufforstung betrieben. Dabei h\u00e4lt Ecuador sogar einen Weltrekord mit 650.000 gepflanzten B\u00e4umen an einem Tag. Authentisch. Nicht gerade wohlhabend, gepr\u00e4gt durch harte Arbeit. Die meisten H\u00e4user sind unverputzt, gerade halb fertig gebaut. W\u00e4sche wird drau\u00dfen im Hof gewaschen auf einem Waschbrett. Die Ernte wird per Hand eingeholt.<br \/>\nDer Anteil der Indigenas d\u00fcrfte nahezu hundert Prozent betragen. Die Trachtenquote ist \u00e4hnlich hoch, zumindest bei den Frauen. Mit ihren Schultert\u00fcchern, Kniestr\u00fcmpfen, Faltenrock und Filzhut mit Feder wirken die Damen wie vom letzten Sch\u00fctzenfest zur\u00fcck gelassen. Sicherlich nicht eines der sch\u00f6nsten Outfits.<br \/>\nGerne wird das Schultertuch durch neumodische Fleece-Decken ersetzt. Hier sind besonders Baby-Decken sehr popul\u00e4r: B\u00e4rchen auf himmelblauen Wolken oder Hello-Kitty-Motive.
