Wir sch\u00e4tzen allerdings den hiesigen Karneval falsch ein: Aschermittwoch ist Feiertag, fast alle Gesch\u00e4fte haben geschlossen. Nur ein paar Mini-Markets, betrieben von Chinesen bzw. Laoten, haben ge\u00f6ffnet.<\/p>\n<p>Einklarieren k\u00f6nnen wir vergessen. Einkaufen auch.<br \/>\nAn Bord befinden sich noch ein K\u00fcrbis, ein paar M\u00f6hren und eine Salatgurke. Okay, mal sehen was das gibt, ich bin allerdings sicher, dass Achim entt\u00e4uscht sein wird. <img src=\"https:\/\/atanga.de\/wp-content\/plugins\/classic-smilies\/img\/icon_mrgreen.gif\" alt=\":mrgreen:\" class=\"wp-smiley\" style=\"height: 1em; max-height: 1em;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Es soll in Kourou einen gro\u00dfen Super-U geben, der die gesamten K\u00f6stlichkeiten aus Frankreich im Sortiment haben soll. Den wollen wir finden.<br \/>\nSchnell stellen wir fest, dass das Franz\u00f6sische Schulsystem prima in Franz\u00f6sisch Guyana greift: keine Fremdsprachen-Kenntnisse auf weiter Front zu finden. Keiner versteht uns. <img src=\"https:\/\/atanga.de\/wp-content\/plugins\/classic-smilies\/img\/icon_sad.gif\" alt=\":-(\" class=\"wp-smiley\" style=\"height: 1em; max-height: 1em;\" \/><br \/>\nErst als wir nach McDonalds fragen, der in der N\u00e4he sein soll, funktioniert es bei einer jungen Frau.<\/p>\n<p>Sie kann uns leidlich den Weg beschreiben, mindestens noch weitere 3 km Fu\u00dfmarsch.<br \/>\nAchim ist schon alles egal, er will zu Mekkes&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Wir trotten guter Dinge neben einer viel befahrenen Ausfallstra\u00dfe entlang, als neben uns ein Auto h\u00e4lt. Zwei junge, h\u00fcbsche Latinas fragen wo wir hinwollen. &#8222;McDonald.&#8220;<br \/>\nWir werden eingeladen mit ihnen zu fahren. Das hilft aber schon mal zur ersten Orientierung im Ort.<br \/>\nKourou ist flach wie Ostfriesland.<br \/>\nOptimales Fahrrad-Gebiet und man sieht auch eine Menge Einheimischer durch die Stadt radeln.<br \/>\nDer Ort ist sehr in die Fl\u00e4che gebaut, die Wege sind weit. Und Kourou ist total nichtssagend.<\/p>\n<p>Es kommt beh\u00e4big und verschlafen daher. Kein S\u00fcdamerikanisches Temperament zeigt sich. Gegen den Trubel in Mindelo kommt es hier schon traurig lahm daher.<br \/>\nDie Menschen sind entweder ganz schwarz oder ganz wei\u00df. Die beiden Milchkaffe-M\u00e4dchen sind die Ausnahme. Eine Vermischung, wie sie in Kap Verde stattgefunden hat, ist hier offensichtlich ausgeblieben.<\/p>\n<p>Wir f\u00fchlen uns spontan wohl und sicher. Die Leute gr\u00fc\u00dfen freundlich und blicken uns interessiert, offen und herzlich in die Augen. Es ist so schade, dass wir keine gemeinsame Sprache haben. Reisef\u00fchrer und Internet wissen wenig \u00fcber Kriminalit\u00e4t zu berichten.<br \/>\nKourou ist Malaria und Banditen frei <img src=\"https:\/\/atanga.de\/wp-content\/plugins\/classic-smilies\/img\/icon_smile.gif\" alt=\":-)\" class=\"wp-smiley\" style=\"height: 1em; max-height: 1em;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Die Menschen wohnen viel in Reihenh\u00e4usern oder in dreigeschossigen Wohnblocks. Ein paar Privilegierte haben Einzelh\u00e4user. Es wirkt nicht arm, aber doch recht d\u00fcrftig. Der Grill verstr\u00f6mt k\u00f6stliche D\u00fcfte. Die Dame des Hauses steht gerne nur in ein Handtuch gewickelt (\u00fcber der Brust zusammengeknotet) vor der T\u00fcr.<\/p>\n<p>Der kleine Garten wird weder f\u00fcr Blumen noch zum Gem\u00fcseanbau genutzt (Saat-T\u00fcten habe ich im Baumarkt gesehen). Statt dessen liegen Bretter, Bleche, alte K\u00fchlschr\u00e4nke und sonstiger Gammel herum.
